Rebecca Graystone Shares About Excellence in Nursing with 91九色视频 Nursing Students

On Thursday, October 24 Rebecca Graystone, Vice President, for the Magnet Recognition Program and Pathway to Excellence Program at the American Nurses Credentialing Center informed and inspired a room filled with next generation of health care professionals as the 91九色视频 (91九色视频) Honor Society for Nursing hosted her presentation on 鈥淲hy Excellence in Nursing is Important to You鈥 at the Bailey Auditorium at the 91九色视频 Treasure Coast Public Safety Training Complex in Fort Pierce.
鈥淢y belief is that nursing is the driver of wellness and health in the hospital setting and in ambulatory settings is nursing. Nurses are the safety net, shares Graystone in a radio interview on WQCS prior to her presentation. 鈥淭hey are the sharp tip of the spear we like to say. They are very much the link as patients go through the continuum of health and wellness.鈥
During her presentation, Graystone shared unique characteristics of the Magnet Recognition Program and outlined their direct connections between their practice and Magnet collected patient outcomes.
鈥淭he best thing that I ever did in my professional life was to go to nursing school. Nursing is a profession like no other. It鈥檚 hard work but it鈥檚 so rewarding. We have many people who are second career nurses. You spend most of your waking hours in your profession doing your work, and so why not do something that you love.鈥
Graystone is Vice President, Magnet Recognition and Pathway to Excellence Programs at the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), where she has responsibility for the overall strategic growth and direction of ANCC鈥檚 organizational credentialing programs and teams. Rebecca has 26 years of acute care nursing practice and leadership experience primarily in the Washington, D.C., region. She has written and presented extensively both domestically and internationally on Magnet and nursing excellence topics. Rebecca is a baccalaureate-prepared nurse and earned her Master鈥檚 Degree of Science in Health Care Administration and Master鈥檚 Degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland, University College. She has a certificate in Health Care Management from Georgetown University and is board certified as a Nurse Executive. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate.
